GOVT-184 People Like Us: Dialogue for Civic Engagement (1)

When you think of ‘people like me,’ who comes to mind? It could be those with similar upbringings, shared identities, or closely aligned political beliefs. But at AU, ‘people like us’ is, or is intended to be, a community of students, scholars, and changemakers dedicated to collaborative inquiry. This dialogue course provides students with listening and communication skills to have productive and meaningful conversations about complex issues at AU, in DC, and beyond. Through course sessions dedicated to a diverse set of dialogue skills and the development of their own dialogue experience project, students leave this course with the tools and knowledge to bridge the gap between every shade of ‘people like me.’ Usually Offered: spring. Grading: Pass/Fail only.
