Following an overview of central nervous system physiology, this class gives a detailed examination of the range of neurotransmitters involved in neural communication and modulation. Each neurotransmitter is described in the context of its biochemistry, distribution, pharmacology, and involvement in both normal and abnormal behavior. Usually offered alternate springs (even years). Prerequisite: graduate standing or permission of instructor.
