Without dwelling on “professional” terminology and technique, the course aims to make poetry more accessible and enjoyable through reading, writing, and discussion. Students are asked to write some poetry along with traditional papers, but the poetry assignments are designed to reassure those who doubt their creativity. Usually offered every term.
