SOCY-525 Social Advocacy and Social Change (3)


Examines social change methods and mobilizing successful movements for social change: defining issues, forming constituencies, recruitment, choosing goals and strategies, criteria for choosing tactics, fundraising and resource mobilization, grassroots leadership development, handling the media, legislative coalitions and judicial remedies. Usually offered every spring. Prerequisite: three courses in sociology.
