MATH-428 Competitive Mathematics (1) This course prepares students for competitions in mathematics, in particular the William Lowell Putnam Mathematics Competition. The class studies how to approach problems that may at first appear impossible. Students become familiar with techniques from diverse areas of mathematics to attack these problems. Usually offered every fall. Prerequisite: MATH-222 .
