Creative Writing (Minor)

Minor Requirements

21 credit hours with grades of C or better, with a minimum of 12 credit hours at the 300-level or above, and at least 12 credit hours unique to the minor

Course Requirements

Required (6 credit hours)

Creative Writing Workshops (9 credit hours)

Note: Any workshop in each genre can be taken up to two times.

Complete 9 credit hours from the following:

LIT-400 Creative Writing: Fiction (3) (may be repeated for credit once)
LIT-401 Creative Writing: Poetry (3) (may be repeated for credit once)
LIT-403 Creative Writing: Nonfiction (3) (may be repeated for credit once)

Additional Courses (6 credit hours)

3 credit hours of any 200-level literature course (an upper-level literature course may be substituted with the approval of the Creative Writing advisor)
3 credit hours of another literature course at the 300-level or above with permission of the Creative Writing advisor
