Averages, dispersion, probability, sampling, and approach to normality; simple and multiple regression; tests and confidence intervals for means, proportions, differences, and regression coefficients; nonparametric statistics; and analysis of variance. Usually offered every term. Prerequisite: STAT-202 or STAT-203 or equivalent. Note: Does not carry credit for graduate programs in mathematics or statistics; students may not receive credit for STAT-514 and STAT-302. Students should consult the department for advice and placement testing for appropriate mathematics and statistics courses.
