COMM-387 Strategic Communication and Event Management (3)


The field of public relations is multi-faceted, incorporating theory, strategy, objectives, tactics, communication, media, and evaluation. One element that is crucial is the significance of events and the role they play in the overall strategy of a campaign or organization. Be it any genre or field–nonprofit, news, politics, corporate, sports, entertainment, or small business, the impact of events is extraordinary. These events could be undoubtedly be the means for some companies to survive or succeed. This course is an opportunity for students to implement the theory they have learned in public communication and merge concepts with real application. Usually Offered: Fall. Grading: A-F only. Prerequisite: COMM-301  with a grade of B or better. Restriction: Public Relations & Strategic Communication (BA)  and minimum 2.5 GPA.
