International Training and Education (MA)


Admission to the Program


In addition to meeting university requirements for graduate study, preference is given to applicants who have a minimum of six months intercultural and/or international experience as either a student or professional. Applicants are also required to submit two letters of recommendation from persons able to evaluate the applicant’s potential for graduate study in international training and education and their intercultural experience. All students whose first language is not English are required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).

Degree Requirements


  • 36 credit hours of approved graduate work, including 18 credit hours of core courses, 6 credit hours of research methodology, and 12 credit hours in an area of concentration
    • Students with a minimum of one year international volunteer work experience in development and training organizations such as the Peace Corps, JET, etc., can earn up to 6 credit hours toward their degree
  • Capstone experience: EDU-685 Proseminar in International Education (3)
